Amitabh Bachchan was born on October 11, 1942 in Allahabad, India. In 1969, he debuted in Saat Hindustani. His role in 1972's Zanjeer made him an action movie star. In the 1980s, Bachchan held a seat in the Indian Parliament. In the '90s, he started his own production company. He returned to acting in 1997, with Mrityudaata. In 2000, he began hosting the Indian version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?.
Early Film Career
In 1969, Bachchan made his film debut in Saat Hindustani. Although the movie tanked at the box office, Bachchan still managed to capture the attention of directors. Soon enough, the offers started rolling in.
By the early 1970s, Bachchan had garnered popularity with audiences as the "angry young man" in a series of successful Hindi feature films. His starring role in Zanjeer was particularly instrumental in launching him to stardom as an action-movie hero. Bachchan's performances in films like Laawaris,CoolieNaseebSilsilaShaarabi and Jaadugar continued to enamor fans of the tall and handsome action hero, and also landed him multiple Fanfare Awards. From the 1970s through the early '80s, the swashbuckling Bachchan appeared in more than 100 films. He seized opportunities to work with India's most acclaimed directors, such as Prakash Mehra, and dominated the silver screen with films like TrishulSholay and Chashme Buddoor. In addition to acting, Bachchan's roles often required him to sing.
Politics and Business
In 1982, Bachchan had a serious accident while filming. Fans prayed for his recovery. Bachchan survived the accident, but it prompted him to change career paths. In 1984, he traded his Bollywood stardom for a seat in the Indian Parliament. His political aspirations proved to be short-lived; in 1987, he left his seat due to unexpected controversy.
By the 1990s, the limelight surrounding Bachchan had begun to fade. But his decision to start his own entertainment production company, Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited, and make himself CEO, put him back in the headlines.
Back to Acting
Bachchan followed his true calling and returned to the silver screen in 1997 with the film Mrityudaata, produced by ABCL. In 2000, he also started hosting the Indian version of the television game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?. Despite a few box-office failures in the 1990s, in the 2000s, Bachchan climbed his way back up to stardom as a film actor, earning additional Filmfare and International Film Award nominations for his work on films like Baghban (2003), Khakee (2004) and Paa (2009).
Personal Life
Bachchan married movie actress Jaya Bhaduri in 1973. The couple have two children, a daughter and a son. Their daughter, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, is married to industrialist Nikhil Nanda, whose grandfather was the film director Raj Kapoor. Bachchan and Bhaduri’s son, Abhishek Bachchan, is also an actor and is married to actress Aishwarya Rai.

Abdul Rashid Salim Salman Khan 27th December, 1965. He is still Single Filmfare Best Male Debut Award, Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award, Star Screen Best Actor Award. Salman was arrested and jailed after allegedly shooting a rare black antelope near Jodhpur on 12th Oct, 1998.

He often visits sick children in hospitals & donates blood.‘Being Human’ is his well known charitable organization. Salman is an excellent painter and swimmer.

Khan is the fourth Indian to have a wax statue at the Madame Tussauds wax museum in London.

Infamously known as Bollywood’s bad boy, Salman Khan hails from a notable filmy family. He is the eldest son of Salim Khan, who himself is a screenwriter, & his wife Salma Khan. Former Bollywood actress Helen is his stepmother. Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan, Alvira & Arpita are Salman Khan’s siblings. Actor/director Atul Agnihotri is Salman’s brother–in–law married to Alvira. Salman Khan has finished his schooling in Mumbai – St. Stanislaus High School – Bandra.

Salman Khan made his debut in Biwi Ho To Aisi (1988) in which he played a supporting role. He made his debut in lead role in Sooraj Barjatva’s romantic family drama movie Maine Pyar Kiya for which he won Filmare Best Male Debut Award & was also nominated for Filmfare Best Actor Award. Baaghi: A Rebel for Love (1990), in which he starred opposite southern actress, Nagma, was a major box-office success. In 1991, Salman gave a hat trick with Patthar Ke Phool, Sanam Bewafa & Saajan. The next couple of years were quiet unsuccessful for Salman. Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! (1994) directed by Sooraj Barjatya and co-starring Madhuri Dixit was the most successful film of the year. Salman’s role in Andaz Apna Apna (1994) was well received and praised. Rakesh Roshan’s blockbuster Karan Arjun (1995) cemented his success.

Salman then went on to act in a number of films including Bhansali’s  directional debut Khamoshi: The Musical (1996), Judwaa (1997), Auzaar (1997), Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya (1998), Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai (1998), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998). All the films did pretty well at the box-office. His cameo in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai won him the Filmfare award for Best Supporting Actor.

1999 was a fruitful year for Salman as it churned out three major successful films – Hum Saath-Saath Hain, Biwi No. 1 and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, the latter getting him a Filmfare Best Actor’s nomination.

In 2000, he starred in Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke and Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam. The movies were moderately successful at the box-office. Salman’s  role in Tere Naam (2003) got him critical acclamation and the movie was a box-office success. This successful run continued with Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2007) & No Entry (2005). Salaam-e-Ishq (2007) failed at the box office. However, Partner (2008) was a hit.

Wanted (2009) remains one of Salman’s blockbuster hits. But Main Aur Mrs. Khanna & London Dreams released in the same year did not do so well. And then Dabangg (2010) happened! The movie broke all box-office records, thus becoming the second highest grossing Indian movie of all time. Salman received the Star Screen Best Actor Award for the movie and was nominated for Filmfare Best Actor Award as well.

Salman’s Ready and Bodyguard were among the biggest hits of 2011.​ Coming to 2012, Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif starrer Ek Tha Tiger became a huge hit among the masses, what with the film raking in 198 crores at the domestic box office. Later, Khan also starred in Dabangg 2, which was directed by his brother Arbaaz Khan. Though the film’s songs and dialogues became a hit, the film couldn’t garner much popularity compared to its prequel.

After a long break of almost 2 years, Khan ​had a release directly in 2014′s January – with brother Sohail Khan’s directorial Jai Ho. However, it wasn’t a worth waiting as the film bombed at the Box Office.

​But, Bhai came with a bang on Eid 2014 with a kickass ‘Kick’, directed by Sajid Nadiadwala. Kick made huge business worldwide​ and the songs, dialogues, action – everything became a rage among Khan’s fans!

Meanwhile, Salman also made his Marathi debut with Lai Bhaari, wherein the actor made a small appearance and muttered some Marathi dialogues with quite an ease.

Salman Khan​’s upcoming films are No Entry Mein Entry, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo​.​Khan will also be starring in Karan Johar’s ​much talked about film ​Shuddhi​.​
